The Winterberg offers the ideal family getaway with many activities geared for kids. As most of the facilities are working farms, children are encouraged to experience farm life and get involved with daily activities.

The Winterberg is also world renowned for its fly and trout fishing dams. Photographic hunting is also well rewarded with many local species of big game available.

Trophy hunting is offered and observers are most welcome welcome. Ethical hunting is practiced and conservation is a priority in this area.

FLY FISHING:

Fly Fishing has the enthusiastic, knowledgeable and award-winning Martin Davies of the Ichthyology Department at Rhodes advising and coordinating the fishing in the Winterberg. Please phone Martin , because not only does he do the stocking of the dams, but he is also the best informed about current fishing conditions.
The rod fees go to him mostly, and is a small reward for all his efforts in breeding and stocking the dams which are :
Thrift , Lemietskloof, Highland Home, Knowsley, Fairfield, Theaden, Ventnor and Delton.
