The Winterberg School Trust strives for the sustainable growth of the Winterberg Community, through education and the creation of opportunities for social and economic upliftment.

The Winterberg School Trust is situated in the heart of the Winterberg, 25km south of Tarkastad in the Eastern Cape. The Trust is a non-profit, community based organization. Education is the core business of this successful organization, which continually strives to meet community needs in the following areas:

FUNDING:

The Winterberg School Trust is dependent on the generous donations of individual and corporate funders, both South African and International. The Trust appreciates the interest, support and advice donors have provided over the past 11 years. Apart from financial assistance, many individuals have also provided the WST with donations in kind and in time – viz. through voluntary work at the school and in the community.

The WST also raises funds, albeit on a small-scale, through in-community fundraising drives – this towards the sustained operation of its 5 Community Projects. The WST is currently for example, in the process of producing what promises to be another popular recipe book. Sales of the 1st book raised in excess of R20 000 two years ago!

The ‘internal’ fundraising initiative serves a further purpose: to empower educators and community members with the knowledge and skills necessary to organize future fundraising events
